Montagn'art trail

After 13 editions of the International Woodcarving Symposium, the Montagn'Art team invites you to discover the "Montagn'Art Trail".
You will have the opportunity to discover about forty sculptures from all over the world, and to get to know the richness of our nature, our heritage and our local history thanks to the trail's mobile application.

You may be wondering why the name "Sentier du Montagn'Art" is so important. Initiated in 2007 by art lovers, the Montagn'Art event brought together the best woodcarvers in the world every summer until 2020. Each artist received a log of wood 2 m high and 60 to 80 cm in diameter. It was a unique opportunity for the artists to share their passion with a public fascinated by the mystical art of woodcarving. A unique opportunity for the local population as well as for tourists to open up to art in a splendid setting in the heart of the Valaisan Alps.

The routes
With the Montagn'Art trail, you can enhance your stay by taking different routes. You can also use public transport to get to the various entrances. In order not to be left behind, please check the postal timetable carefully.

One departure is in Praperrot (between Hérémence and Pralong). A first possibility takes you to Les Masses. This route is rather easy and can be used by anyone. The more athletic and the more enduring will choose to branch off in the direction of Les Collons. The difference in altitude is significant and the path is rather narrow. They can even continue their discovery as far as Thyon 2000, either by crossing the resort of Les Collons or by taking the Mura loop.

In Les Collons, families can take the Mura loop at their leisure, with even a Vita course.
From the Mura, you will have the possibility of joining Les Masses by another path, as well as the Planie which will bring you back to your starting point. From the Collons 1800, a route leads you to Thyon 2000.
