The Pyramids of Euseigne
Euseigne
A landscape sculpted by time
Also known as fairy chimneys or capped damsels, the pyramids of Euseigne are one of the most fascinating geological phenomena in the Swiss Alps. These columns of earth topped with blocks of stone, shaped by glacial erosion, seem to have come straight out of a fairytale.
Now classified as a natural site of national importance, the pyramids are easily accessible from the Val d'Hérens road - but now you can discover them in a whole new way. Thanks to the construction of a new tunnel, the old cantonal road that used to run under the pyramids has now become pedestrianised. A unique way to admire them up close, on foot, in peace and quiet, with no traffic.
Unusual, photogenic and full of mystery, they are one of the must-see spots in the Valais.
