Hut hiking

In the summer season, the mountain huts in the Val des Dix are accommodations for those hiking the Tour of Val d'Hérens, the Tour of the 4 Valleys, the Haute-Route, and other alpine itineraries. They are also destinations for day hikes for families and friends.
In the area of Hérémence, you will find no less than 6 mountain huts and refuges, ranging from the most accessible to the most alpine. There are huts with a family or mountain spirit for easy or more demanding hikes. You can choose your own itinerary!
We have selected 3 hut hikes for you:

• The Essertze Hut: easily accessible by the Trabanta chairlift from Collons 1800, it is ideal for a first experience and waking up in a dreamlike setting. It is also an alpine tavern where you can taste local products. Download the itinerary
• The Tour of 3 Huts: a loop trail accessible to all and the opportunity to see ibex along the way. For those who prefer an easy round trip, we recommend the Barmaz hut, accessible in just 1 hour 15 minutes of walking along Lake Dix. Download the itinerary
