HISTORIC visit to the Grande Dixence dam

Travel aboard a legendary 1951 Saurer bus, the one that once took workers to the Grande Dixence construction site. Take a trip back to the 50s and relive the epic of the great dams as our guides tell you all about this titanic work.
Once there, a historian will accompany you on a fascinating stroll through time on the Grande Dixence site.
A light snack and a glass of friendship will then be offered at the foot of the "Ritz", the famous building where some of the workers were housed during the construction of the dam. 

 
Programme:

9:05 - 9:35 a.m.: Travel by "modern" bus from Sion station to Hérémence.
9.45 - 10.45 a.m.: Journey by "Saurer 2cm 4×4" oldtimer coach from 1951 between Hérémence and Grande-Dixence.
11:00 - 12:00 a.m.: Guided tour
12:00 - 13:00 p.m.: Agape and a drink.
13.15 - 15.15 p.m.: Free time on site
(possibility of visiting the inside of the dam wall at 1.30 p.m., booking on on://shop.grande-dixence.ch/fr, not included in the historical visit).
15:30 - 16:15 p.m.: Departure for the return journey with the Saurer bus between Grande-Dixence and Hérémence,
16:34 - 17:05 p.m.: Return journey from Hérémence to Sion station.
