Val d'Hérens/Bern, 4 December 2025. A fresh breeze is blowing through Val d'Hérens as the new winter season gets underway. With the inauguration of a major hotel complex and the first edition of a light festival in one of its villages, winter in Val d'Hérens will be enlivened by a host of new attractions and unmissable events.
Opening of the Dent Blanche Resort, a major turning point for the destination
The Dent Blanche Resort, which will open its doors on 15 December 2025, is set to be a highlight of the season. Located in Hérémence, in the heart of a spectacular panorama overlooking the Dent Blanche and the Matterhorn, this 4-star superior hotel complex comprises 69 apartments, representing a total of 144 rooms. The establishment has been designed to offer the perfect balance between the privacy and freedom of an apartment and the high-end services of a modern hotel, all at the foot of the 4 Vallées ski area. The experience on offer is comprehensive, with a large restaurant, a cosy wine and cigar bar and a lively après-ski bar. In terms of relaxation, the wellness areas include a spa with a capacity of around forty people, featuring indoor and outdoor baths, a sauna, a hammam, a salt cave, a flotation tank and an immersive sound environment, as well as a fitness room with a coach. The resort also has a mini-market, a sports shop and a conference room that can accommodate up to 100 participants, making it a new hub for business tourism and an ideal venue for private events. Designed to operate all year round, the hotel will also help boost the local economy by creating around 40 jobs when it opens. Yoann Nendaz, Director of the Hérémence Tourist Office, is delighted with this important milestone: "The opening of the Dent Blanche Resort consolidates Hérémence's position as a tourist destination. This high-end complex increases our accommodation capacity, stimulates the local economy and enriches the diversity of our tourist offering, while respecting the authentic spirit of the valley ."
‘Evolène en lumière’, the new outdoor light show
From 6 December 2025 to 6 January 2026, Evolène will reveal its most magical side during the very first edition of the ‘Evolène en lumière’ festival. Every evening, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., the Rue Centrale will light up to the rhythm of a unique show combining sound, projections and light effects on the facades of the village buildings and its church. During the weekends, a cosy wooden chalet will offer mulled wine and other Advent delicacies. This visual creation will transform the historic heart of the village into a veritable open-air stage, promising to delight young and old alike in a magical atmosphere.
The Val d'Hérens, a true winter paradise
In addition to these new seasonal attractions and events, the Valais destination remains a favourite spot for holidaymakers seeking an authentic, sporty and rejuvenating winter experience. Ski and snowboard enthusiasts can enjoy the three areas that make up the Espace Dent-Blanche or the Masses resort, which is linked to the 4 Vallées. Flatter but just as majestic, the vast, unspoilt plains of the Val d'Hérens are transformed into an ideal playground for cross-country skiing in peaceful and unspoilt surroundings. Visitors who prefer winter hiking and snowshoeing will also find what they are looking for, especially around St-Martin. Finally, adventurers can opt for more original activities such as dog sledding or ice climbing. All in all, a winter rich in emotions, faithful to the warm and unspoilt identity of the Val d'Hérens.
